Who is Krampus?
In central European culture, Krampus is a half goat, half demon monster that punishes misbehaving children during Christmas time. Krampus is said to follow St. Nicholas carrying a wicker basket filled with birch branches to swat bad children.
For many years, central European countries have celebrated this holiday with Krampuslauf ( Krampus Run) where people dress up as Krampus and run throughout out the streets of town. Now, Race Mozey brings this tradition to New England with a twist.
9-Hour, 10K, AND 5K
You will have three options in Race Mozey's Krampulauf from a 5K loop, 10K loop, or sign up to see how many laps of the 10K you can complete in 9 hours. 5K and 10K finishers will receive finisher medals and runners participating in loops will receive specialty pins for each lap and a 50K medal if they reach that length.
The race is held at beautiful Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme NH. The first 5K is held on the Holt's side of the mountain and the second 5K is on the Winslow side. 5K runners will only run the Holt's side and 10K runners will run both. Runners who sign up for laps will run both side of the mountain and have a drop area at the start/finish.
